Sad spotty philodendron
Hello plant gang!

I've had this Lil guy for about 6 months, and honestly, it has never looked great....upon taking it home, it had stippling and little yellow dots. In the past, I have treated it with neem oil and a systemic pesticide. Since then, I have repotted it with fresh soil and clean the leaves ones a week. I wait for it to dry out pretty well before watering and keep it in a bright spot in my living room. But still these orange rusty colored spots have not gone away....in fact they look bigger. Any thoughts?

Paris Lalicata I agree with Pei! If the spots are spreading then this is most likely a fungal infection - but should bounce back just fine after removing infected leaves and altering care. It may be even beneficial to spray the foliage with a fungicide for about a week to help prevent the spread! I did this with my Philo Congo recently and thought it helped encourage the infection to cease faster- good luck!

Pei [309832,Erin Hidy] How often and how much do you water? Does the planter have a drianage hole? It looks like fungal infection to me that unfortunately it won't heal itself. I recommend to snip off the damaged leaf as close to the soil line as possible. Put it in a warm, bright to indirect bright light environment. water it only when the soil has completely dry out. with the proper care, your plant should be happy again!
