Henry
I am so excited about taking on plant parenthood and just wanted to share my Philodendron. His name is Henry. I can’t wait to get more plant babies!

Pei Hiiii Henry! Is he your first plant, [291162,Idalia] ?

Idalia He is not actually. At home I have a small Aloe plant, and at work I have a small Aloe and a Cactus. But he is the one that has really catapulted my interest in plants. I have always just done cactus or succulents because I am afraid I will kill any other plant, but having Henry is pushing me outside my comfort zone and I love it.

Pei As Henry ages, he will start trickle down. I am a sucker for any trailing plants. You might want to eventually hang it which will make him very happy :)

PlntNrd I love trailing plants and, as Pei said, these guys love to trail. Just wait, in a few months Henry will be touching the top of your shelf. Here are pics of my Brasil Philo. One taken in August when it was first given to me and the other today. I moved all of the other plants out of the stand so you could see how big it’s has gotten. It’s so exciting when they start getting longer and longer and longer!! One day Henry will be touching the floor and that will be so beautiful and amazing!!

Idalia Yeah I would definitely like to try!
Your plant family sounds awesome!! I can't wait to continue to grow my plant family. I only have one philo and three succulents, but I look forward to continue getting more both for work and home.

PlntNrd I also love hanging plants from the ceiling. I might hang this guy eventually. I have a couple spider plants, pothos, a bunch of tradescantias, and a Monstera adansonii hanging right now and I love them, but I also really like when they trail down a shelf/bookcase/plantstand too. I have more spider plants, hope peperomia, string of bananas, string of pearls, pilea glauca, baby tears, and a string of hearts all sitting on the top levels of my plant stands/bookshelves and I just love the way they look trailing/hanging down between the shelves or, for the really long ones, along the sides or corners. I think your idea of having multiple hanging to create a bushy viney wall sounds awesome! You should definitely go for it.

Idalia Oh my Goodness!!! I LOVE it!!! I cant wait for Henry to grow. I'm actually thinking about getting a few and doing some hanging planters to create a sort of vine looking wall. Not sure how well it will work in reality, but in my mind I can picture it! I love your plant, it's beautiful!

Idalia Thanks, that's really good to know! I will have to find a place to hang him, or a tall shelf/file cabinet in the office. I definitely want another for home as well.
