Hoya Kerri Stem Problems...??
Hi all!
Ive been noticing the top stem of my hoya kerri yellowing and thinning out. there is also some white stuff at the top. i was hoping someone here knew what could possibly be happening and give advice on whether or not i should cut the unhealthy looking part off. thank you and hope to hear from you all soon!

Paris Lalicata Hi [305305,Ally] ! Do you see any pests on the plant, like spider mites or mealy bugs? At times when these pests invade our plants they not only harm the foliage, but can stunt the growth of the plant as well. If not, it could be an indication of moisture stress, either over or under watering. It would be great to know how often you water and what kind of light the plant is receiving!

Ally hi paris! thanks for the response! i try to water the plant pretty infrequently because of how finicky hoyas can be with overwatering/root rot. i water about every 1.5 to 2 weeks depending on how the soil looks and feels. I watered it today so i hope that helps but i haven't seen any signs of bugs which is a good sign. I may spray it with neam oil? idk what your thoughts are on that but id love to hear them! the plant sits about 4 ft from a mostly western facing window. Thanks!

Paris Lalicata [305305,Ally] Moving forward I would suggest to prune the damaged growth tip back to the main stem just above the two nodes very gently. This way overtime once the plant bounces back it can have the chance to sprout new growth from that point again. You can most certainly spray the plant with neem oil since this is naturally derived and won't harm the plant in any way. I agree that it is better to under water, rather then to over water- as long as the plant is getting plenty of sun and only watered when the soil has dried out completely it'll be good to go. I would recommend increasing it's exposure to light by bringing it closer to the window and seeing if that helps. Plants can turn leggy and weak overtime when not given enough light!

Amy This looks to me that it needs water! The leaves are somewhat puckered and the stem is drying off. The white stuff is just a normal part of where the node is.

Ally thank you so much for the advice! i watered it and i hope it starts to look better. should the stem start to return to normal or do you think it'll just shrivel up? should i try and cut it? id love to hear what you think! thank you so much for your time and words!!!
