Parlor palm help!
Hello! I am a total plant newbie. I just got my first two plants from the sill. My mother has a wonderful green thumb and I’m thinking it skipped a generation but I’m still trying! <div><br></div><div>I got this parlor palm from the sill about 10 days ago and it’s dropping all over the place! I’ve watered it once a week since receiving it and it sits at a window that gets bright indirect light. <div><br></div><div>Is the plant just adjusting to its new home? Is there something I should or shouldn’t be doing? Please be gentle I’m new at this and excited to learn! Thank you! </div></div>

Paris Lalicata Hi Lenni! It seems like the plant may be dropping leaves due to being over watered. Do you ever check the soil to test for moisture? Or do you stick to a calendar schedule for watering? It's always best to check the moisture of the soil rather then sticking to a schedule since plants only take up water based on the amount of light they are receiving. Therefor, overcast/cloudy days in the winter will keep the soil moist for longer and you may over water the plant. I would recommend checking the soil by inserting your finger to the bottom. Once it has dried out it'll be time to give the plant a drink!
