So most of this banana plant looks nice on the outside of the pot but the parts closest to the soil look like they’re dying. Should I weed out the dead part? Water more? Water less?
Thanks!!-

Paris Lalicata Hi Marisa! This looks like a result of over watering most likely - I would recommend removing the dead plant material, and either increasing the plants exposure to light or watering less frequently!- 10 1 vote

So I just got this Calathea about 3 weeks ago. When I got it, it looked like it had been freshly watered. So I have only watered it once since then. I have it in an area that is away from a window but gets some indirect sunlight ~25% of the day. Currently the soil is still moist. But the leaves look like they’re drooping. It also looks like the leaves are too heavy and might break off. What should I do??

Paris Lalicata Hi Marisa! The Calathea looks pretty healthy to me - the leaves will move from day to night in response to light. There's a chance it's not receiving enough light- I would increase it by moving it closer to the light source and water once the top 2-3 inches to half the soil dries out!
